PayPal beat instant bank by 20 hours in my test - deck_mcgraw - 05-27-2026

Trying to settle which rail is genuinely faster instead of going off what sites advertise. My last two cashouts on the same site were a clean test, $300 via PayPal and $300 via instant bank, both requested on a Monday before noon.

The PayPal one landed in about 5 hours. The instant bank one took roughly 26 hours, most of it overnight waiting on the bank side.

Same site, same amount, same day of week, KYC already done. That gap surprised me because I assumed instant bank would be the quicker option given the name.

For those who use both, which one actually lands faster for you, and does it flip depending on the site or the day of the week?

PayPal wins for me almost every time and your test matches my spreadsheet. My PayPal cashouts this year landed in 4, 9, and 6 hours, while instant bank ones came in at 18, 26, and once a full 40 hours over a weekend.

The reason is the bank side, not the casino side. The site can approve instantly but the ACH or bank transfer still rides the banking rails, which slow down overnight and on weekends, while PayPal moves the moment it is approved.

One caveat, a few sites charge a small fee on PayPal or cap it lower than bank transfer. Worth checking the limits page before you assume PayPal is strictly better.

Same finding here in Michigan. PayPal has been my fastest by a wide margin, my last one was $220 in about 3 hours on a Thursday.

Instant bank for me is reliable but slower, usually next day. If a site supports both I default to PayPal for anything under $500 and only use bank for the bigger ones where the PayPal cap would block it.

Different rail entirely but worth adding for the comparison. My crypto withdrawals settle in roughly 30 to 60 minutes once the site approves them, faster than both your options.

The catch is the approval step is still on the site, so a manual review can still hold a crypto cashout for hours regardless of how fast the blockchain is. The network speed only matters after a human clicks approve.
